The Utah football program continues to garner commitments from quarterback rookies.
The latest engagement comes from Californian Brandon Rose, a member of the 2022 class who announced it on Instagram on Friday.
It comes less than a week after Kyle Whittingham’s side received an entry from fellow California QB, Nate Johnson.
Rose is listed as a 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback by 247 Sports, who prepares for Murrieta Valley High in Murrieta, Calif., With offerings from several other FBS programs, including Pac-12 Arizona programs. State and Colorado, according to their site.
Rose had recently visited Northwestern after a visit to Utah in June, 247 Sports reported.
âI love the offense and what Coach (Utah Offensive Coordinator Andy) Ludwig wants to do,â Rose told Greg Biggins of 247 Sports. âHe’s a great coach and I think I’m fitting in very well. He’s a coach who will build his attack around his staff and they have been up front with me from the start I was the best guy on their board and I can’t wait to compete right away .
âI know they have the transfer of Baylor (Charlie Brewer) who will play this fall but after that it’s going to be wide open. I graduated early and my goal is to come in and land the job as a real freshman and I’m confident I can do it.
Rose joins Johnson, Texas, wide receiver Zion Steptoe and Weber High athlete Aisea Moa as players who signed up to Utah for 2022. Moa signed up in January.
