REGIONAL SOCCER: Lakeview Rec soccer teams end their seasons | News, Sports, Jobs

COTTONWOOD — The Lakeview Rec soccer teams recently wrapped up their seasons. Each participated in the Plum Creek tournament in Tracy from June 3-5. In the Grades 5-8 split, Lakeview Team Blue took third place with a dominating victory. Lakeview Team Silver took first place after leveling 1-1 in regulation, sending the game to a fierce shootout. Goalkeeper Jaxon Hartke blocked the last shot to win the game. Silver went undefeated for the season.

In the Grades 2-4 split, the four Lakeview teams made it to the fourth round where they faced off. Blue and Black took the wins and then clashed. The black team won in shootout and placed second overall.

Lakeview also took part in Mankato Soccerfest on June 11. Four combined roster teams from all teams played, one team each in the 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U divisions.

Lakeview has been participating in the Plum Creek League since 2018 and it has grown every year. This year they had 10 teams with 140 participating athletes from K-8. Teams practice at Cottonwood on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
