OBU releases fall 2021 football schedule


The Oklahoma Baptist women’s football team, three-time Great American Conference regular season champions, announced their 2021 schedule on Thursday.

Fans will be treated to eight home games and one home scrum this season with nine games to come. Bison’s non-conference program features the top three Lone Star Conference teams as well as the top MIAA teams.

The Bisons start the regular season at home on September 2 against center Missouri before hitting the road for a tough no-conference list as they face reigning conference champion Lone Star Dallas Baptist on September 4 and the West Texas A&M finalist on September 9.

The Bisons conclude their three road games with a trip to Edmond to face defending MIAA champion Central Oklahoma on September 11. The Bison return home for another non-conference game against Texas A & M-Commerce on September 14 before starting their conference schedule with a three-game homestand.

OBU welcomes Harding to open GAC play on September 30 before facing defending GAC tournament champions Ouachita Baptist on October 2, where the Bison will have an unfinished business in mind after a 1-0 overtime loss. in the title match. OBU closes its homestand against the South Nazarene on October 5.

OBU will travel to Ada to fight East Central on October 7 before fighting Northwest Oklahoma State on October 14 in Alva. The Bisons closed the first wave of conference opponents against Southwestern Oklahoma State at home on Oct. 16.

The Bison will then enter the second leg of the GAC round robin format, starting with three consecutive road games against Harding (October 21), Ouachita (October 23) and Southern Nazarene (October 26).

The Bison will follow with a home game against East Central on October 28 before hitting the road against SWOSU on November 4.

The senior night will take place on Saturday, November 6 as the bison welcome the northwest.

The Oklahoma Baptist women’s football team played in every GAC title game during the NCAA Division II era and won three regular season championships as well as one tournament title and one appearance in the NCAA tournament in 2018.
