Upcoming games include the return of the University of Washington, former recurring contenders who also went to the NCAA tournament last season, and the University of Northern Arizona, which was one of the COVID-19 incident far away a conference championship and a spot in the NCAA tournament. Boise State is another great fixture, which went 5-4-1 last season. The game against San Diego State University should also be a big game; this is the UNM team beaten to win the Mountain West Conference Championship last season.
the season 2020-21, which was shortened to a conference-only competition and played in the spring due to COVID-19 restrictions, was dominated by the Lobos, who went 10-2 on aggregate. Last year, the team won the 2020-21 Mountain West Conference Championship and secured a spot in the 2020 National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament. The Lobos ultimately lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament to Texas Christian University.
