  • 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup United States veteran defenseman Brooks Lennon wins his first USMNT appearance tonight.
  • Lennon is the 50e player to make his USMNT debut under Gregg Berhalter, tying Jurgen Klinsmann for the fourth most starts under a USMNT head coach.   • Along with his debut, Lennon was joined by center-back Henry Kessler and midfielder Johnny Cardoso to win their first starts at USMNT.
  • Kessler made his first appearances as a late-game substitute in the team’s 1-0 overtime win over Mexico in the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup Final on August 1 in Las Vegas.
  • Cardoso gets his first start just over a year after winning his first two USMNT caps in the team’s November 2020 friendlies in Wales and against Panama.
  • After his impactful debut to lead the comeback in USMNT’s 4-1 win at WCQ in Honduras on September 8, 18-year-old Ricardo Pepi will make his seventh consecutive appearance tonight.
  • After playing a role in both November playoffs, Jesús Ferreira gets his second start in 2021. In his previous start, Ferreira won the US Soccer Insiders man of the match honors after scoring two goals and providing three assists decisive to help the United States reach a score of 7. Victory -0 against Trinidad and Tobago on January 31st.
  • Hailing from Pico Rivera, Calif., Midfielder Cristian Roldan will make his 30e USMNT appearance tonight in nearby Carson, California.
  • Walker Zimmerman is captain of the USMNT for the fourth time this evening. The team is 2-1-0 when the center-back has already worn the armband.
  • Five starters were on the USMNT Gold Cup Championship roster this summer: Kellyn Acosta, George Bello, Cristian Roldan, Matt Turner and Walker Zimmerman.
  • With teams authorized to dress 23 players, defenseman Aaron Long and goaltender John Pulskamp are healthy stripes from tonight’s team. Teams are entitled to six substitutions at three different times.
  • Keylor Herrera of Costa Rica is the referee for tonight’s game. It is the first time that he has refereed a match involving the USMNT.
  • Already with a record 16 wins in 2021, a USMNT win tonight would set a new milestone for the team of 17 wins in a calendar year. Before 2021, the team also reached 16 wins in 2013.
  • USMNT hold a 1-0-1 record against Bosnia-Herzegovina. The United States won the first meeting between the two nations, using a Jozy Altidore hat trick to get a 4-3 result on August 14, 2013 in Sarajevo.
  • The last meeting between the teams ended 0-0 in a game also played at Dignity Health Sports Park on January 28, 2018.
