Coweta coach Tim Harper is not sure when the school last started a football season with five consecutive wins.

It certainly didn’t seem to bother the No.3 team in Class 5A this season, however. The Tigers continue to win and stay perfect for five games after beating Rogers 55-14 in a District 5A-3 game on Thursday night at Will Rogers Stadium.

Professionally, Coweta (5-0, district 2-0) took a 24-0 lead after a quarter and led 41-0 at halftime en route to an easy win on a chilly night when conditions in terrain weren’t the best. from intermittent rain showers.

“Honestly, we had times where we played really well and then there were other times where we didn’t play very well,” said Harper. “I have to give (Rogers) a lot of credit for this.”

Coweta finished with 436 total yards of attack, evenly distributed with 220 rushing yards and 216 in the air.

“We scored 42 points in the first half and we probably should have scored another if we wanted to,” Harper added. “We are aiming for something bigger. I don’t think we really took advantage of all of our opportunities. I was a little disappointed with this.
