Spokesman rejected

“We, the county football association, on this day, November 24, 2021 rejected the spokesperson’s approval for and on behalf of the county football associations,” read part of the letter signed by 32 county officials and obtained by GOAL.

“We reiterate that such a ploy to install a spokesperson is unwarranted, illegal, superficial and hollow to the core. We the county football associations at our national consultative meeting in Kakamega rejected the proposal to endorse one person to be our spokesperson.

“We have today [Wednesday] left an allegedly convened meeting to discuss the challenges county football associations face in complying with the 2013 Sports Act [Revised], to our surprise and dismay, the meeting turned out to be a platform to seek the approval of a certain Twaha Mbarak.

“We express our deepest displeasure with the conduct of the organizers of this ‘kangaroo court style’ meeting, for deceiving the county football associations into attending a meeting whose hidden agenda turned out to be. a desperate and insatiable hunger to crown a Twaha Mbarak as the spokesperson.

“For the avoidance of doubt, we totally reject any initiative to nominate, nominate or vote for a spokesperson on behalf of the county football associations.

“Such a position does not exist in the Sports Act 2013 [Revised] nor in the constitution of the county football associations, such a facility will render the exercise futile, the process and the envisaged action will be invalid, null and void. “
