Does Adam Thielen play Monday night? Vikings-Bears Fantastic Injury Update Week 15 Sunday Night Football

Adam Thielen’s owners probably weren’t even considering their WR stud for the first round of the fantasy football playoffs, but it’s officially “moot” for the Vikings’ Monday Night Football game against the Bears. Considering the game, it may be tempting to wait and see if he plays to lock in your start-up, Week 15 sit ’em decisions, but ultimately it’s a risk that might not be worth it. We break it down – and provide the latest injury updates – below.

We will continue to update this article with news from Thielen until the official active / inactive report is released on Monday around 6:45 p.m. ET. For all the latest fantasy updates, follow us on Twitter @SN_Fantasy.

Does Adam Thielen play Monday night?

Although he hadn’t practiced all week, Thielen (ankle) received a “questionable” tag for Monday night’s game against the Bears.

Sunday RB | WR / TE Sunday | Lamar | Fournette

It seems unlikely that Thielen will adjust despite the importance of the game, but the mere fact that he was not ruled out suggests the Vikings have some hope. However, even if he’s active, it seems unlikely he’ll be 100% or playing a full set of snaps, so fantasy owners would be taking a major risk by leaving him in their queues.

Mayfield | Landry / Hooper | Hurts / McLaurin / Lockett

Our advice is to leave Thielen on your bench and hope he will be back for the fantastic semi-finals. Obviously, he can have an impact even with just a few targets, but it’s not a risk you want – or have to – take in a win or come home scenario. The Bears present a very favorable clash for the WR, but that’s still not reason enough to give Thielen a shot.

However, if it is active, it would be more difficult to use KJ Osborn as a flex. Osborn has produced each of the past two weeks and is in a good position to produce again, but his outlook is suddenly a little cloudier. For now, it seems safe to pencil it in – especially with at least two other games on Tuesday that allow for replacement options – but keep an eye out for Thielen’s status even if you only own Osborn.
