College Football Week 4 Saturday Open Discussion

Washington will face California at 6:30 p.m., but that leaves plenty of time to tune into the other nationwide action before that. So if you are looking to discuss the games with other Dawg fans, the comments below is the place for you.

Need help figuring out what to watch today? This is what we are here for.

9h00 – # 12 our Lady at # 18 Wisconsin (-6), FOX

Saint Midwest, Batman! The Irish have looked incredibly fragile on their way to a 3-0 start and it looks like their luck (I’m not going to do that pun, you can’t do me) could run out from this Saturday. Wisconsin weren’t exactly the best in the world either, but this loss to Penn State looks better after they also dealt with Auburn.

Alternative game: Texan technology in Texas (-8), ABC

The Red Raiders are undefeated so far this season, but the toughest game they’ve had so far is at home against Houston, so they’re untested. Former Oregon QB Tyler Shough has 804 yards and 6 TDs in the 3 wins and will be looking to cause upset. Meanwhile, Texas and new head coach Steve Sarkisian will try to prove the Arkansas hype was just a momentary setback.

12:30 p.m. – # 7 Texas A&M (-5.5) at # 16 Arkansas, CBS

It’s one of the SEC’s 20 best games, but I don’t blame you if it doesn’t really do it for you. The resurgence of Arkansas is a fun story. I watched Texas A&M vs. Colorado and have to say I didn’t really like the experience. Their backup QB looked better last week with time to prepare, but you might be in for a nasty slugfest if you watch this one. If this is what you want, then make the most of it by all means.

Alternative game: Rutgers at # 19 Michigan (-20), ABC

I’m somehow secretly more interested in this game than the one above. Wolverines are well in the top 10 for most advanced metrics and can play undefeated (!) Rutgers to try and show they’re real. It will help my sanity if they cover the huge point spread out in this one.

4:30 p.m. – West Virginia at # 4 Oklahoma (-16.5), ABC

I will be vigorously supporting a West Virginia upset in this game and Oklahoma hasn’t really looked dominant so far. If this game was in Morgantown I would sniff an upset after West Virginia took care of Virginie Tech last week (barely, but still). Spencer Rattler hasn’t lived up to expectations so far and we’ll see if he can continue to pull through.

6:30 p.m. – California to Washington (-7.5), Pac-12 Networks

7:30 p.m.- Oregon State at USC (-12), FS1

This is a preview opportunity as Washington will travel to Corvallis next week. If the Beavers are able to keep this one close, that suggests they’ll be in the thick of things in the Pac-12 North. I hope you can come back to this game for the 2nd half after enjoying a comfortable win in Washington. With a bit of luck.
