Best Monday Night Football Bets & Player Accessories: Rams at Cardinals

If Rodney Dangerfield were still alive today, he would clearly describe Arizona as the 2021 NFL team that “gets no respect.” The Cardinals sit first in NFC West, with the best NFL record, yet SI Sportsbook punters have only listed them as the fifth overall betting pick to win Super Bowl LVI, behind Tampa Bay, Kansas. City, New England and Baie Verte.

On Monday night, the Cardinals have another chance to earn some of that respect against a team with their own Super Bowl aspirations. Week 14 of the 2021 NFL season ends with a fantastic NFC West clash, as Kyler Murray and the Cardinals welcome Matthew Stafford and the Rams.

Arizona, who have the best road record of any team in the league at 7-0 in a row (SU), return to State Farm Stadium to improve their home score to 3-2 in SU . The Cardinals rewarded bettors overall with a 9-3 ATS record, but were not profitable at home, posting a disappointing 2-3 ATS mark.

The Rams, who are 4-2 SU on the road, burned punters with a 2-4 ATS rating during that span. Los Angeles, who beat Jacksonville 37-7 as a home favorite with 14 points last week, have been difficult to trust, posting a 1-5 ATS record in their last six games.

Since being drafted by the Lions in 2009, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is 5-7 on Monday night football.

The line dropped a half point in Game 1 for Arizona (10-2 SU; 9-3 ATS) as a 3-point home favorites against Los Angeles (8-4 SU; 5-7 ATS) to a request for 2.5 points to SI Sports Paris. The total, which opened at 52, was reduced to 51 following strong steam that the two teams will combine for fewer points than punters predict.

The Rams head to Arizona with the goal of breaking their losing two-game road slippage with the third-best passing offense (289.0 yards per game), led by Stafford in his debut season with the powerful attack from Sean McVay.

On the other side of the ball, Kyler Murray leads an explosive offensive attack that ranks third in scoring, averaging 28.6 points per game. Murray, who has totaled 11 touchdowns in his last four games, returned after missing three games with an ankle injury to post an outstanding performance against the Bears with four scores.

Arizona will present a strong passing offense with a line consisting of DeAndre Hopkins, AJ Green and Christian Kirk. Hopkins, who returned after a three-week absence with his fifth touchdown in his last six games. Achieving an 83% clip, Hopkins is an attractive investment in the Anytime Touchdown market with a rating of +130. On the field, the Cardinals have running back James Conner, who leads the club with 630 rushing yards. The veteran is tied with Joe Mixon for the league lead with 12 rushing touchdowns. Dealing with the NFL’s seventh best defense (100.4 rushing yards per game) won’t be easy, but Conner has found the end zone twice in the first clash between these two division rivals this week. 4. Including fiery red Conner, a total of nine opposing backers have found dirt on the ground or in the air against the Rams in 12 games this season. If Chase Edmonds is unable to adjust, Conner’s “Anytime Touchdown” odds of -120 are a solid investment.

On the other side of the ball, Los Angeles will look to reward punters after failing to cover the spread the last time they met in Week 4. Arizona outscored the Rams, 37-20, easily covering favorites on the road with 3.5 points. As is always the case, fantastic managers will depend on the strong production of Cooper Kupp. The featured receiving target has a receiving distance projection of 91.5 displayed on SI Sportsbook. Kupp exceeded that projection in 11 of 12 games, including eight in a row. Kupp was held to his worst game of the season in Week 4 against the Cardinals, recording season lows in receptions (5) and receiving yards (64).

The Rams have beaten the Cardinals in eight of the last 10 encounters dating back to 2017, but it’s just too hard to knock Arizona out of home this season. Lay the small gap with a team that should start to earn “respect” after beating the Rams for the second time this season.

Cooper Kupp, WR, Los Angeles: Touchdown Anytime -125
